I'm testing a server application right now and for some reason the same process starts several times. Although I close it beforehand. To start another one, but I end up not destroying the old process.

And you do not have a checklist so to speak, on which to go and test the server or application? Usually companies have testing manuals. Look through all your processes, choose the right one and apply the kill command.

I tried using the command, but when I run the test in multi-threaded mode I still get an overload and end up with a memory stack that just clogs and starts lagging the system horribly.

Hi, this is a huge mistake in your testing, you don't keep track of your Linux processes, and you end up with multiple runs of the same process. Read about checking running processes in Linux https://www.hostforweb.com/article/how-check-running-processes-linux/ . I used to make this error constantly when I started using Linux. But in testing, it is better not to get such errors. Probably you will not have such users which will load your application so, but just in case)
