I have owned my dog for 10 years. I got her in my final year of college and she has been my sidekick ever since. 5 years ago I inherited a second dog. I also happen to be an avid expense tracker. When an acquaintance on social media posted a rant about dog owners not paying for important medical care for their dogs, it got me thinking... why don't people understand the true cost of owning a dog? I sure didn't when I first got mine 10 years ago. So for all you curious folks out there, I looked back at my past 5 years of dog-related expenses and have summarized for your viewing pleasure. Spoiler alert - dogs aren't cheap!
