I have a problem with trying to handle my grandfather's chihuahua's newborn puppies. The problem is that the mother dog won't let me.
Whenever I try to reach for her pups, she automatically starts MANIACALLY trying to chomp at my hand. She's a quick little bugger, too. I've gotten away with all of my fingers intact so far, but I figured it wasn't worth risking my hands health, so I went to Petco and bought a little Chihuahua sized muzzle for mom.
I was wondering how exactly you're supposed to safely muzzle a dog that is actively trying to bite you? She also gets pretty into it, jumping around and such around her newborns, and I don't want them to get hurt.
