A digital currency is a set of electronic data (digital code or designation) contained in the information system that are offered and (or) can be accepted as a means of payment that is not the monetary unit of the Russian Federation, the monetary unit of a foreign state and (or) an international monetary or unit of account, and (or) as an investment and in respect of which there is no person liable to each owner of such electronic data, with the exception of the operator and (or) nodes of the information system, which are only obliged to ensure compliance with the procedure for issuing these electronic data and implementing in respect of them actions to make (change) entries in such an information system by its rules.

The following features of a digital currency follow from the definition:

it is a collection of data in an information system (in practice: tokens in the blockchain);

is not the currency of any state;

can be used in calculations (theoretically, it can, because the law prohibits buying goods, works, services for digital currency);

the operator of this information system does not owe anything to the owner of the digital currency, except to enter data into this system (i.e., to form a blockchain; in the case of bitcoin, this happens through mining).

That's okay, you can help artists by sharing their songs with other people, it helps them as well. Personally, I use mp3juice service to download music and listen to it for free, and you can check it out as well. The database there is huge, so it won't be a problem for you to find even underground artists there.
