New Bloodline Breakdown: Classic vs. Modern Lines
Based on a great suggestion from Jok Er, weve updated the pedigree analysis with a clearer and more detailed overview of bloodlines.
The system now automatically separates significant ancestors into two independent tables:
🐾 FOUNDATION (CLASSIC) LINES
the traditional American bloodlines that shaped the historical base of the APBT
🐾 MODERN LINES
contemporary European and international lines found in modern pedigrees
This separation makes it easier to understand the dog's origins and quickly see:
✔️ which classic lines are present
✔️ which modern lines appear
✔️ the percentage of estimated blood
✔️ the number of occurrences
✔️ and the generation range for each line
Thank you for all your feedback and ideas they help us continuously improve the APBT Database! 🧡🐕
Pedigree Analysis - update
Based on your feedback, we have deployed several important upgrades today that make the Pedigree Analysis clearer, faster, and more user-friendly, while also improving account and dog-management security.
⭐ Whats new in Pedigree Analysis
- Ancestor pagination the ancestor table is now split into pages, with a selector to choose how many dogs per page (1050).
- Improved performance even large analyses load faster and no longer freeze your browser.
- Generation highlighting hovering over a cell highlights all ancestors in that generation.
- CSV / XLS export you can now export the whole analysis for further work (e.g., Excel).
- Saved Page size the system remembers how many dogs you prefer per page.
- Search field reset when opening the analysis for another dog, the search box is now empty (clearer workflow).
The goal is to make even the most complex pedigrees easier to read and significantly faster to work with.
📌 Change in deletion / transfer requests
To improve security and traceability, users are now required to provide a reason when requesting:
- dog deletion
- dog transfer to another account
The reason is visible to administrators and helps us resolve requests faster and more accurately.
Thank you for all your feedback its what helps us continuously improve the system.
Bloodlines analyze
We have just released one of the most advanced tools ever added to the APBT Database a bloodline analysis that automatically reads deep pedigrees (9+ generations) and identifies the presence and influence of major historical families such as Eli, Red Boy, Snooty, Bolio, Tombstone, Jeep, Mayday, Carver, Chinaman, Nigerino and more.
From now on, when you analyze a deep pedigree, the system will:
🔍 Identify key bloodlines based on exact historical dogs
📊 Calculate their approximate percentage of blood in the pedigree
📈 Show how many times they appear and in which generations
🧬 Combine it with COI/AVK interpretation for a complete genetic overview
✨ Visually highlight each line in the text
📋 A new table clearly summarizes the represented families
This means you can finally see in one place how strongly a pedigree is influenced by major APBT foundation lines and where that influence comes from.
This feature was built to help breeders, historians, and enthusiasts better understand the structure of their pedigrees and make more informed breeding decisions.
Give it a try in Analyze Pedigree and explore your dogs heritage in a completely new way!

Breed Change Request
Weve just added a new feature to the Pedigree Database
that lets you easily request a breed change directly from the dogs profile page.
🔹 How it works:
On each dogs detail page, youll now see a new button called Request breed change.
When you click it, a small pop-up window will appear with a dropdown list of all available breeds.
Simply select the correct one and send your request it will automatically be sent to the head administrator for review.
🔹 Why we added this:
This feature makes it easier to correct breed information in the database.
If you notice that a dog has been listed under the wrong breed, you no longer need to send a separate message or email you can submit the correction directly from the site.
🔹 Security and moderation:
Every request is logged and manually reviewed by the administrator before any changes are applied, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
More breeds
Lately, there have been more and more dogs of different breeds appearing in the database for example APBT UKC, American Bully, Patterdale Terrier and even a few roosters 🐓 and Doberman Pinschers 😅
To bring some order into this mix, weve added a brand-new feature:
👉 You can now set the breed for each individual dog in the pedigree!
🔍 What this means:
Every dog can now have an explicitly defined breed.
In your user profile, you can set a breed filter (for example APBT Standard, APBT UKC, etc.).
Once selected, youll only see dogs of that breed in search results, in pedigrees, and in the Newest Entries section.
When you create a new dog, your preferred breed is auto-selected, so you dont need to pick it manually each time.
And when searching, youll always see which breed filter is currently active.
⚙️ Additional advantage:
This update also helps keep things consistent between different lines:
For APBT Standard, POR and ROM points are counted, and the title format is validated just like before.
Other breeds (like APBT UKC, American Bully, etc.) dont have these restrictions, so you can freely maintain their pedigrees without the standard APBT rules.
With this, the APBT Database becomes clearer and more organized, and everyone can view and manage exactly what interests them.
Whether you follow the traditional APBT bloodlines or keep records of other related breeds now youre fully in control. 🐶🔥
POR/ROM Breakdown
Weve added a new feature to each dogs profile a fully interactive ROM and POR breakdown showing exactly how the points were calculated.
📊 Whats new:
See a full list of offspring contributing to ROM/POR points, including their titles, points, and reasons for inclusion.
Separate tabs for Counted Dogs and Not Counted Dogs, so you can clearly see who was excluded and why.
Automatic total calculation updates in real time within the popup.
Added an info banner (ⓘ) at the top explaining the exact logic used for the calculation
for example, whether bonus points were added or not, and why (e.g., ROM bonus not awarded because the sire had titled offspring with only one dam).
All explanations and labels are now in English, formatted for clear display on both desktop and mobile.
💡 This feature makes ROM/POR evaluation fully transparent and helps breeders understand how every point was earned.
📥 To view the breakdown, simply click the Details button next to ROM or POR on any dogs profile.
Modern notice for private pedigrees
Weve just added a clean, modern notice for private pedigrees:
This is not public pedigree!
and if direct access is enabled, youll also see:
Direct access is allowed anyone with the link can view this pedigree.
💡 This makes it immediately clear when a pedigree is private and who can view it improving both transparency and security.
Feature update on APBT Database
The site has already shown whether a dogs pedigree is complete (8 generations) or not 🧬
Now Ive expanded this feature in addition to showing if a pedigree is complete or incomplete, it now also displays which generations are missing ancestors.
So if some dogs are missing in, for example, the 7th generation, the system will show it like this:
🔴 Missing ancestors in generations: 7
✅ Fully completed pedigrees are still marked with Complete 8-generation pedigree.
